Accounts

Users need a computer connected to the internet, and a modern browser, in order to use the device.

To sign up for a new Moon lab account, go to the following URL: https://moon.diploid.com/users/sign_up.

On the sign up screen, enter the required information, including a password to protect your account, and click Sign Up.

Requests for new lab accounts will be reviewed within one business day. Upon approval of the lab account, an email will be sent to the provided institutional email address.

By default, the person creating the lab account is the Administrator of the lab account.

Logging in to the web UI

To access the Moon interface and login:

  • Open a modern browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

  • Go to the following URL https://moon.diploid.com/users/sign_in?ceivd=true. If using Moon on a lab-specific server, enter the Moon URL for your lab, as provided to you by Diploid.

  • On the sign in screen, enter your user name and password and click Sign In.

Some functionality in the Moon UI might not function properly when using non-supported browsers such as Internet Explorer.

To ensure the best possible security of your account and the data stored in the account, Moon allows you to enable Two Factor Authentication. We strongly advise all Moon users to enable this functionality.

User account page

After logging in, you can view and edit your account information, by using the menu at the top right of the screen.

On top of the account page, the following information is displayed:

  • Account photo: An account photo can be set by uploading it at gravatar.com

  • Name of the user

  • Lab name

  • Account email

  • Indication of whether Two Factor Authentication is enabled for the account

Administrators of the lab account see an overview of current lab members with the indication of which team members enabled two factor authentication.

For each lab member, the Administrator can indicate whether this member is able to either Sign or Authorize reports through the drop-down menu next to the lab members name.

In their accounts, Administrators have the possibility of adding new members to the lab account by entering their email address. An invitation to set a password and create a new Moon account within the existing lab account will automatically be sent to the invited person. Administrators also have the possibility of removing members from the lab account.

At the bottom of the account screen, information is provided with regard to the Moon API. More info on the API can be found in the API section of this guide, or via the link at the bottom of the account page.
